On October 8–9, 2025, the Tourism and Hospitality Forum took place in Lviv – the main professional event of the year for representatives of the tourism industry, HoReCa, local governments, educational institutions, and businesses.
The event has traditionally served as a platform for establishing partnerships, exchanging experience, fostering innovation, and finding effective solutions for the sustainable recovery and development of the industry.
A delegation from the Faculty of Tourism of the Ivan Boberskyi Lviv State University of Physical Culture and Tourism actively participated in the Forum. The delegation included:
- Volodymyr Kholyavka – Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Management
- Volodymyr Khudoba – Dean of the Faculty of Postgraduate and Correspondence Education, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism
- Maria Paska – Head of the Department of Hotel and Restaurant Business, Professor
- Pavlo Kucher – Acting Head of the Department of International Relations, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism
Scientific and pedagogical staff: Associate Professors Orysya Izhevska, Olga Teslya, Volodymyr Dudyuk; lecturers Yuliya Pysko, Oleg Boratynskyi, Valentyna Labartkava, Oksana Khudoba, Kostyantyn Labartkava.
As well as higher education students majoring in:
- J2 – Hotel and Restaurant Business and Catering
- J3 – Tourism and Recreation
- D3 – Management
Key topics of the Forum–2025 included:
- Accessible tourism and inclusion as a competitive advantage
- Routes through places of memory
- Investments and development of tourism projects
- Gastronomic and medical tourism
- The formula for success of HoReCa 2026: service + marketing + safety
Forum participants had the opportunity to visit specialized exhibitions «Tour EXPO» and «Hotel and Restaurant Business», attend eight panel discussions featuring over 40 renowned experts and industry leaders, and network with representatives from professional circles, business, and academia.
A highlight of the Forum was the presentation by Mykhailo Shevelyuk, lecturer at the Department of Hotel and Restaurant Business, who delivered a report titled:
«Risk Management, Food Safety Standards, New Models of Personnel Work, Automation and Implementation of Innovations in HoReCa».
The Forum concluded with a thought-provoking panel discussion:
«When a Plate is a Map: Gastronomy in the Contours of Tourism», focused on gastronomic routes and local brands. Among the speakers was Andriy Nimets, a postgraduate student of the Department of Hotel and Restaurant Business, restaurateur, and owner of «Boykivska Gostyna». He shared insights on developing a local brand and its significance in shaping the tourist identity of the region.
