Modern Approaches to Physical Education for Schoolchildren: Open Lecture within the LERMOV Project

With the aim of promoting the international project LERMOV – «Learning through Movement! Innovative and Interdisciplinary Teaching Methods in Preschool and Primary Education», an open lecture titled «Innovative and Interdisciplinary Methods of Teaching Physical Education to Schoolchildren» was held on May 1 at Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University.

The event was organized for academic staff of the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Culture, as well as for master’s degree students.

The lecture was delivered by Nataliia Sorokolit, Doctor of Sciences in Physical Education and Sport, Professor of the Department of Theory and Methods of Physical Culture at Ivan Boberskyi Lviv State University of Physical Culture.

During the lecture, special attention was paid to:

  • the importance of implementing international experience in the Ukrainian school education system,
  • the specific features of methodologies used by project partners,
  • modern approaches to teaching physical education,
  • integration of physical activity into the educational process,
  • implementation of interdisciplinary teaching methods that enhance student motivation and support the development of key competencies.

Participants showed particular interest in practical examples of LERMOV project implementation, including educational videos prepared by project partners, as well as opportunities for applying innovative technologies in physical education for children of different ages.

The event became a platform for professional discussion, exchange of experience, and outlining перспектив for further implementation of modern pedagogical approaches in the training of future physical education teachers.
