On 21 August 2026, research into the archival heritage of Professor Ivan Boberskyi began at the National and University Library of Slovenia (Slovenian: Narodna in univerzitetna knjižnica, NUK) in Ljubljana as part of the project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, “Historic Residences 2.0: The Ukrainian Factor in the History of Glorious Victories.”
The project involves representatives of Ivan Boberskyi Lviv State University of Physical Culture — Andrii Sova, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor at the Department of Humanities and Olympic Education, and Pavlo Kucher, PhD in Geography, Associate Professor at the Department of Tourism and Acting Head of the International Relations Office.
The successful implementation of the project is supported by the university leadership. We sincerely thank Rector, Professor Yaroslav Svyshch, and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and International Relations, Professor Marian Pityn, for their support and assistance in implementing the project.
The project aims to identify, study, and bring into scholarly and public circulation archival materials highlighting the Ukrainian factor in key events of European and world history, as well as to strengthen the international presence of Ukrainian historical scholarship.
The first day of work at NUK was dedicated to studying Ivan Boberskyi’s Manuscript Collection, which contains valuable materials related to his life and activities in Slovenia. Studying these materials will contribute to a deeper understanding of the life and work of this outstanding Ukrainian educator, public figure, and founding figure of Ukrainian physical education.
