LERMOV in 2025: Achievements and Challenges

International Project «Learning through Movement! Innovative and Interdisciplinary Teaching Methods in Preschool and Primary Education (LERMOV)». The international project «Learning through Movement! Innovative and Interdisciplinary Teaching Methods in Preschool and Primary Education (LERMOV)» (No. 2024-1-PL01-KA220-HED-000250640), implemented within the Erasmus+ Programme, has been running from 1 September 2024 to 28 February 2027.

Throughout 2025, the academic staff of Ivan Boberskyi Lviv State University of Physical Culture – Yevhen Prystupa, Nataliia Sorokolit, Viktoriia Pasichnyk, Andrii Mandiuk, and Iryna Bodnar – successfully completed all planned activities in accordance with the schedule and objectives defined in the project application.

Key Achievements of the Ukrainian Team in 2025

  • A chapter was prepared for the collective monograph «Learning through Movement! Innovative and Interdisciplinary Teaching Methods in Preschool and Primary Education.»
  • Methodological guidelines were developed for the implementation of the combined methodology «Movement – Coordination – Learning» for physical education teachers.
  • Six educational and two promotional videos were produced, demonstrating the specifics of physical education methods for preschool and primary school children.
  • Two training lectures in English were delivered for project partners (lecturer: Dr Andrii Mandiuk).
  • Academic visits were conducted, including participation in lectures and practical classes at partner institutions:
    • Wroclaw University of Health and Sport Sciences – EDUBALL / BRAINBALL method;
    • Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań – Mini-EDUBALL / Mini-BRAINBALL method;
    • University of Warsaw – «Learning and Movement» method;
    • Maria Grzegorzewska University (Warsaw) – «Learning for Movement» method;
    • Aristotle University of Thessaloniki – kinematic theatrical play method;
    • Foro Italico University of Rome – Crispiani method.

In April 2025, workshops were held at the Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw, during which project partners were introduced to the combined «Movement – Coordination – Learning» methodology.

Effectiveness Assessment and Partner Feedback

Based on participant surveys, the project activities received high evaluation scores:

  • Presentation of the methodology during the online lecture – 9.4 / 10;
  • Clarity and comprehensibility of information during workshops – 9.67 / 10;
  • Practical applicability of the methodology – 9.13 / 10;
  • Professional competence and interaction of trainers with participants – 9.8 / 10;
  • Overall quality of workshop delivery – 9.27 / 10.

The overall conclusion of the project management team indicates that all evaluated areas exceeded the established satisfaction threshold. The level of participant satisfaction exceeded 70%, confirming the high practical relevance and effectiveness of the activities.

As part of quality assurance, all members of the Ukrainian team successfully passed assessments on all methodologies and received corresponding certificates.

To promote the project, a workshop was also conducted within the framework of the 29th International Conference «Young Sports Science of Ukraine», which received positive feedback from participants and university guests.

Project Implementation Challenges

Despite significant achievements, the team faced several challenges:

  • coordination of cooperation among six universities from four countries (Poland, Greece, Italy, and Ukraine);
  • difficulties in synchronizing schedules, time zones, and overcoming language barriers;
  • the need to adapt methodologies to the specific features of preschool and primary education systems in different countries;
  • complex logistics of international travel due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Plans for 2026

In 2026, the project plans include workshops for students and physical education teachers from higher education institutions in Wroclaw, Poznań, Warsaw, Thessaloniki, and Rome. During these activities, Doctors of Sciences from Ivan Boberskyi Lviv State University of Physical Culture will train participants in the application of the combined «Movement – Coordination – Learning» methodology.
