As part of the implementation of the international project «Ukrainian Center for Adaptive Sports and Occupational Therapy for Persons with Disabilities VOL. 2.0», a comprehensive set of tasks aimed at expanding the involvement of people with disabilities in sports and developing adaptive sports in Ukraine has been successfully accomplished.

The international project «Ukrainian Center for Adaptive Sports and Occupational Therapy for Persons with Disabilities VOL. 2.0» (Ukraińskie Centrum Terapii Zajęciowej Poprzez Sport Osób Niepełnosprawnych Vol. 2.0) was implemented by the Lviv State University of Physical Culture named after Ivan Bobersky (Department of Olympic, Professional, and Adaptive Sports) in partnership with the AZS WSG Association (Stowarzyszenie AZS WSG, Bydgoszcz, Poland) and higher education institutions of Ukraine, including the Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture and the Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economics and Humanities (Rivne).

The project was co-financed by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation within the RITA – «Changes in the Region» program (RITA – Przemiany w regionie), implemented by the Education for Democracy Foundation (Fundacja Edukacja dla Demokracji).

The project included professional development for instructors, organization of competitions and training programs, as well as informational and educational activities aimed at increasing public awareness of adaptive sports. An important component was supporting the social adaptation and integration of people with disabilities, promoting their physical development, reducing emotional stress and anxiety, and fostering communication skills.

Within the framework of the project, 13 events were held, including workshops and tournaments in adaptive games (cornhole, boccia, kulbuto, djakkolo, elastic), as well as methodological and practical sessions for master’s degree students.
